About Us |
Our mission The Elizabethan Syngers, under the direction of Jason M. Horner, are celebrating their 33rd season as an ensemble committed to quality musicianship and community involvement, and dedicated to preserving, promoting, and performing music of and inspired by the Renaissance.
Our history Established in 1971 as part of the White Bear Choral Association (WBACA), the Elizabethan Syngers almost immediately began performing at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival, a relationship that continues to this day. Our place in the community In addition to their performances each summer and fall at the Renaissance Festival, the Elizabethan Syngers are recognized as an excellent ensemble for the holiday season in and around the Twin Cities metro area.
Our part in the White Bear Area Choral Association The Elizabethan Syngers is one of four performance groups operating within the White Bear Choral Association. The WBACA originated in 1968 with the formation of a concert choir, which presented its first program in the spring of 1969. Over time, thanks to the tireless efforts of dedicated volunteers, the WBACA has established its credentials as a non-profit organization.
WBACA mission statement Through our varied performance groups, we invite the community to share in the magic of music as we: * Provide a venue for musical growth and performance * Preserve musical traditions, old and new * Collaborate with other artists and professional musicians * Challenge members to musical excellence
